The Labour group on Southampton City Council have selected Richard Williams as their group leader following June Bridles ousting at the recent local elections.
Labour in Southampton are going from one mistake to the other, firstly they team up with the Lib Dems, then they both attempt to charge residents for parking outside their own homes, they then put all their resources into saving Cllr Bridles set which cost them dearly throughout the city and now they elect Richard Williams as their group leader.
Cllr Richard Williams only just kept his seat on May 1st 2008 and now has the poisoned chalice which is the Labour leadership.
The Liberal Party Southampton will soon be making it none to Labour Cllrs in Southampton that they do have a home in The Official Liberal Party and we will soon make our return onto our city council.

Join The Liberal Party
Following the collapse of the Liberal Democrats and Labour Parties in the Southampton City Council elections we urge all remaining Lib Dem and Labour Cllrs to join The Liberal Party in order for them to save their seats on the council when they are due for re-election.
Only The Liberal Party can offer new fresh ideas and an opposition to the Conservative Party in Southampton.

Southampton Lib Dems collapse
The time has never been better for The Liberal Party to re-launch and re-focus in Southampton following the collapse of The Lib Dems on Thursday night.
They lost their leader on the council Adrian Vinson along with long-serving Swaythling cllr Ann Milton.
Only a few years ago The Lib Dems were running Southampton city council and now they have 8 cllrs.
The Liberal Party had 3 cllr until 2003 and will be looking to take advantage of the current situation in Southampton and once again have a true liberal representation on the council.

Leading local UKIP member defects
It is with great pleasure that The Liberal Party Southampton welcomes former UKIP Southampton Vice Chairman Ryan Newell.
Ryan is a known local campaigner and will be helping the party build its profile locally and fighting all local elections building up to the next locals for Southampton in 2010.
